Dreams Sponsored By The Letter S

Sad: To dream that you are sad suggests that you need to learn from your disappointments and make yourself happy. The dream may be a reflection of how you are feeling in your waking life so try not to dwell on the negative.

Saint: Indicates that a special message is being given to you from the spiritual realm. It symbolizes your willingness to help others.

Sanctuary: Signifies your need to escape from the demands of your daily life. You are searching for some peace and a real need to decompress and restore your faith.

Sea Horse: Signifies the power of your unconscious. It also indicates a new perspective or different outlook on life that you may need to channel into. If the sea horse is invisible than there is an emotional issue that you are not acknowledging or recognizing.

Seasons: Represents a passage of time and the phases and periods in your life. If the seasons are changing rapidly through the dream then it suggests that you are undergoing an important transformation and deep spiritual development in your life.

Serpent: Signifies high intellectual power, deception, and the balance of good and evil.

Skateboard: Indicates that you have the gift of making any difficult situation look easy. You carry yourself with style and great composure in the hardest of situations.

Spirits: To see or talk to spirits in your dream signifies fear of death. The spirits may be trying to guide you through some issues. Pay particular attention to the spirits as they provide an answer to a waking problem.

Sun: Symbolizes peace of mind, enlightenment, tranquility, fortune, goodwill, and insight. It also represents radiant energy and divine power. It is a good omen to have the sun shining in your dream.

Sunflower: Symbolizes warmth, abundance, longevity, and prosperity. The sunflower will point you in the right direction and is a source of spiritual guidance. Even through difficult times you will persevere. *artwork by a dear friend Kathy Hare

Wonderful pictures and very informative post. The sad face is very sad... and as for skateboard - yes, but it takes a loooong time to get to that stage!

Hi Renee,
I love the artwork you pick for these dream posts. I especially love the girl hugging the spirit and the picture of the sun. I would like to dream of skateboarding!

Renne, darling girl, I’ve been here two or three times in the last week, but I’ve not left comments. Mainly because I’ve been so tied up in the twirling tangles of life recently and I didn’t want to leave little puffs of air, particularly when you’ve been through the searing agony of ‘not knowing’ and the pain associated with that state of mind (Bone First Please). I couldn’t bear to leave behind anything trite or words without due thought and care.

I love the tribute to your funny, beautiful and caring sister – I particularly love the way in which you are able to paint a portrait of such clarity with your words.

I love your Queen Bee – you know that memorable passage in Zora Hurston’s ‘Their Eyes Were Watching God?’ “She was stretched on her back beneath the pear tree soaking in the alto chant of the visiting bees, the gold of the sun and the panting breath of the breeze when the inaudible voice of it all came to her. She saw a dust-bearing bee sink into the sanctum of a bloom; the thousand sister-calyxes arch to meet the love embrace and the ecstatic shiver of the tree from root to tiniest branch creaming in every blossom and frothing with delight…..”

Your dreamscapes are fascinating and the images which accompany them – as I’ve said before – are quiveringly apt. You are a poet, Renee, and a seer and a quite remarkable woman. There is beauty there, in abundance.

(Yikes! The word veri is 'ororfas'! Which one, I wonder?)

Saturday night I had a dream that my SON came home...in full dress uniform. He was speaking to me, but I do not remember what he said, but it was his voice. I woke up and looked around the room to be certain it was a dream, not a vision. We "spoke" this morning through My Space. All is well on my little patch of this pretty blue planet. Sending you all my love, Deborah

Love, love, love the evocative artwork and the informative dream 'dictionary' of your letters.

I just purchased an amazing book, "The Tao of Dreaming" which marries two of my favorite subjects, but it ain't got nothing on you, dear Renee! LOL! Warm hugs from stormy Louisiana today.

That's funny Renee! You arrived twice! I was honoured to be given an award named after you. Glad the girls are doing well-you have to watch their tempers though-sometimes they can be a little grumpy-I think they take after me!

Dream day is always one of my favorite posts! I love the sanctuary one - I am implanting that image in my brain for my next visit to the onc. As I wait in that gruesome examining room, THAT is the image I want to focus on.
Love to you, dear friend.

Hi Renee...what a wonderful post! My Mom always had a dream journal by her bed...and she was always an expert in telling us what our dreams meant....I think there are signs all around us....we just need to be more aware of them...in our dreams in our day to day lives.....what we do with these signs is the difference....

Great post!!!!

Hugs
Diana

Always enjoy reading your dream interpretation posts. What does flying in a dream mean? I do that all the time.

Hi Renee!

Loved to read the various
dreamscapes for the letter S. I've never been one to follow dream meanings much, however my dad is and it really is interesting what your dreams can show.

Wishing you a fabulous Monday!

I love dreaming, my dreams seem sooo real to me - can't count the times I have been disappointed when I realize I was just dreaming - I do not know how to skateboard and the sky is actually cloudy covering up the sun.

Lots of bad dreams too - usually about something evil or something super scary, but never fear - I just use the trick you taught me when I was very little: just start praying: Hail Mary, full of grace ... until I conk out - works every time.

I dream of sisters – lots and lots of sisters, but one sister in particular…

Loved the art work, especially the sea horse, spirit and the sun ... xoxo

Ah...I love these. I can't say as I've dreamed about any of those, but so much of my summer days are devoted to sunflowers. These are lovely thoughts, and lovely images. The last one I very much admired in its original posting.

Take care!

I hope you are feeling well this evening. Have fun with your beautiful family. Now why dream when one can enjoy the reality with that lovely little girl skateboarding in a tutu. She looks like she really knows what she is doing, unafraid and quite adept at balancing. Is that my little beautiful twin friend?

I tried to remember what I was dreaming last night...but it was gone. Was I sad? Were the trees around me changing colors? I will think about saints and skateboards as I doze off tonight and put on sunglasses in anticipation of the sun!

Thanks Renee...you gave me much to think about! Hope you are having a peaceful Monday!

Stay Cozy, Carrie

Interesting post. I don't agree with all of the interpretations, but most seem to sound true. Don't think I've ever dreamed of a skateboard. LOL! But lots of other crazy things. LOL!

The artwork is truly beautiful. I especially loved the purple trees reflected in the water and the pic of Mother Teresa. I've always felt a great respect towards her and her work.

You do such a great job of pairing the images with the words Renee. I do love the dream alphabet! The spirit painting may be my favorite and I also love Kathy's drawing. I thought it was hers!

I'm glad you liked the raven with the sparkly crown. She was bought immediately by a woman who has bought many of my raven paintings. She's on my mailing list of when I post and she got right on the phone to claim her. KJ thought she should go to you, my raven sister.

The award painting was done a few years ago. It's supposed to represent a younger me. This is how I feel when I go to Asilomar beach down the street. The painting is called "Gratitude" and it lives with another collector of my work. I didn't want to let this painting go for the very reason that's happening now...I'm moving away from here. I only have that grainy scan, darn it.

How are you today, sweet lady?
Sending love and healing thoughts from my part of the world.

Oooh, I love that drawing by Kathy. Isn't it just amazing? And that seahorse is fantastic!

Haven't had any S dreams lately. Not any I can remember, anyway. But my office-mate in grad school said he dreamed about Sex all the time. In his dreams, he had boinked every member of the department at least once, including me. And even the older, wrinkled male professors! HAHA!

Hope your treatment went fine and you're doing well this evening.

xoxoxo!

Love the spirit hugger as well. It speaks to me somehow, for some reason. Perhaps just the beauty of it.

You find such wonderful pictures to go with your enlightening posts, Renee. I dreamed last night that someone was being tortured and had a huge eye put in the middle of her chest so she could only see up in the sky. How weird is that?

I forgot to say I hope all goes well with the treatment.

What a small world, Renee! I've only just learned that the Renee in the Acorn Award is YOU! Now I feel doubly honored. Thanks for the sweet comments on my blog and for all the beautiful art and info on yours!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog so that I could find you here. I love your honesty and the artwork.
I'm overwhelmed at the moment by your post about waiting for test results. There is so much in that one...I understand some of it, from waiting with Katie, many times. I am awfully sorry that this is the way life is, but I love the beauty, the F-bombs and the strength in your openness. Thank you for your writing. God bless you.

That's an interesting set of dream images. I find that what works well for any piece of a dream is to think of what associations that image has for you in particular. Usually, people just know if an interpretation "fits,"
