Taurus

The birthdates for Taurus are between April 21st and May 21st. My son Nathan’s birthday is on the 29th.

Colour = Blue and Green
Metal = Copper
Stone = Sapphire, Emerald, and Jade
Tree = Almond, Ash, and Myrtle
Plants = Violets and Wild Roses

Taurus is represented by the bull’s head and horns. Taureans are strong, tenacious, virile and powerful. Left alone they will happily go through their life; but if they are bothered they will charge. Like the bull that is their zodiac symbol they can be calm and peaceful but when their anger is aroused they see red and their temper can be wicked. Taurus is a fixed sign and Taureans have a fair measure of tradition and steadiness in their personality that keeps them rooted. Being a fixed sign also makes them resistant to change and they simply cannot be rushed into anything new. It can be difficult to sway a Taurus; they are often rather stubborn and fixed in their ways.

Ruled by the planet Venus, Taureans are romantics whose sensibility keeps their feet on the ground even while they dream among the stars. Taureans are charming and have a love of beauty. The world of the five senses is all-important to a Taurus. Because Taureans are the one sign in the zodiac that lives most through their senses they like to gather and own what awakens them. Their responses are to feel things out through the realm of the five senses. They have a practical approach to life, and security is one of the foremost considerations a Taurean will think of before undertaking anything new.

A Taurus is the one person that many will count on to come through in a clutch. They are driven by determination and power and tend to be successful because of the perseverance that motivates them. There is nothing a Taurus can’t do once they have set their mind to it. Taureans are patient, gentle and possess an enormous amount of common sense. Taureans have well-defined long-term goals and the determination to achieve them. A Taurus usually gets all that they pursue in life.

Taureans are especially loved by their Aries mother. No other sign in the zodiac can seem less flexible or unmoving but they are very loyal to those they care about. This Aries mother holds her Taurus son in high esteem and believes that he is capable of having the stamina and staying power that he needs to achieve all his goals.

Your post gives me a lot to think about...for after 30 years, some of the qualities that were positive for me have become somewhat negative....the happy to go about their own life uninterrupted...and I am such a CONNECT CONNECT CONNECT soul. Renee, I always love to come here to answer your questions. My grandchild is thirteen. Two of my grown children are Taurus, one born on the 23rd, the other on the 30th. Their personalities seem to be aligned with the descriptions. I still have something to send you; I have just been derailed again with irritating stuff; but it too will pass! Love your way.

Hi Renee. My husband is a Taurus on the 23rd. and my mom also on May 14th. Pretty much describes them both. Hope your week is going well. I have to finish getting ready to go exercise and then pick up some hamburger meat. I'm making spaghetti. I prefer it w/o meat but "el esposo" wants hamburger in it. Have a great day.

What a beautiful illustration with your post, Renee. I don't have any Taurus's in my family, so this was interesting and quite informative.

I adore you and thank you for so openly sharing your heart & soul here with us. Blessings & big Southern ((((HUG)))) from green and blooming Louisiana!

Peter was born under the sign of Taurus as well … did you know that Cancer and Taurus are the ultimate domestic duo?
Nathan, you have accomplished so much this year and I am extremely proud that you are my Godson … I think the coming year will hold many wonderful surprises for you – both professionally and personally (I suggest a nice girl born under the sign of Cancer) …xoxo

Happy birthday to your son!

My father was a Taurean. His birthday is on April 30th. He was bullish in terms of his business transactions but THE MOST LOVING AND GENTLEST MAN towards his family. He was very polite and respectful especially to the elders. Man oh man. It was almost reverence. He loved and honored my mother so much, they were inseparable. He believed in all of us, he made no excuses. He never considered our gender (6 of us girls) a limitation to what we can achieve. He was egalitarian to the core. He did not like injustice and was a champion of just causes. He was godfather to so many couples we never knew just so they can be married in church because it mattered much in a country where the church had a powerful influence. He and my mother made our home a refuge for abused and battered women and for the Aetas (aborigines) who were stoned when they descended from the mountains because they were pygmies and had dark skin. He also made us accountable for our actions. Every Filipino man I met I compared to him so it was really difficult for me to find one I can consider worthy to be my husband. He raised the bar so high which is probably my sisters are not married. He was a very loyal friend. He and his best friend called each other brother. They died on the same day. Oh man but he was autocratic and I constantly argued and rebelled against him. He did not like me going to school not wearing the uniform. I wore clothes with holes that I patched with messages. He thought I looked awful but he let me express myself. OH I loved him so and he still makes my heart shake with joy. He was the perfect father for me. Just typing this comment makes me so happy.

Ciao Renee! Just a quick run through my favorite bloggy friends for a quick hello.

I miss coming here and other blogland places, but work is fun. And as you say, the 'cashola' is sorely needed.

My birthday is May 2nd, I'm your 100% Taurus.

Your post paints a pretty faithful description of me. Ciao

Hello Renee:)

Yes, it's been my experience that Taureans are stubborn people. I always have to tread lightly around my Taurean friends whenever we disagree on an issue, but their loyalty is well worth it.

And, they know I'm always right anyway. Har-har-har!

I'm sure that Nathan is very loved by his very special mother.

I'm so behind in commenting these past few days! Whew!!!

Happiest of birthdays to your dear Nathan. Taureans that I have known and still know are some of my favorite people ;)

How have you been Renee? I'm clinging to the end of the month, waiting by your side.

We're having record high temps for this time of year. Today was almost triple digits! That's unheard of in my part of California. I'm literally melting :P Yuck.

Hubby left for vegas today on business. He'll be giving his notice this week. That's pretty scary in this economy but we're moving anyway. I guess sometimes the best mode of transportation is a leap of faith, right?

Tonight I'm headed to a girlfriend's house to watch American Idol (ssshh, I'm not proud of it!) and we'll have a little wine. Actually, I admit to watching every single season of Idol thus far. There....I said it!

Sorry to fill you in on your blog but I don't have an email address. I guess your readers will just have to scroll past the bullshit!

Sending love and hugs to you..
